Isle of Wight Events Through the Year

The Isle of Wight is never quiet. Across the year the Island fills with festivals, coastal celebrations, countryside traditions and creative events that bring every town and village to life. From long established favourites to new experiences, there is always something happening just a short drive from Northcourt House.

Summer brings the big names. The Isle of Wight Festival continues to draw music lovers from far and wide, while Cowes Week fills the Solent with colour and world class sailing. Ventnor Fringe adds a creative buzz to the south coast, with theatre, comedy and late night performances tucked into unexpected corners of the town. Families love the Royal Isle of Wight County Show, the Island Steam Fair and the many carnivals that parade through our streets, including Shorwell's very own Midsummer Fair, Wolverton Folk and Blues and the Wolverton Garden Fair.

Autumn and winter have their own rhythm. Art trails, heritage open days, walking festivals, cosy concerts, craft workshops and seasonal food events keep the Island lively even as the days draw in.

Whether you are visiting for a weekend or staying longer, the best way to keep up with everything happening across the Island is to follow the official what's on guide at Visit Isle of Wight.
